LANGUAGE SPECIALISM

In April 2006, we were designated by the Department for Education and Skills with a second Specialism, Language College Status.  We were the first school in Havering to be awarded two specialisms. 

We have or have pledged to:

• continue to provide lessons in Latin.
• assist Primary Schools in teaching Modern Foreign Languages;
• offer lessons in Spanish and French and for the community;
• increase the opportunity for pupils to study a second language;
• provide a Homework Language Drop-in Centre for parents and pupils;
• provide further links with European Schools.
• more recently we have also provided a 30 station Language Laboratory for the use of Hall Mead pupils and the local community.
